About Us
Camp Friendship is sponsored by Camp Friendship Inc. and serves the children of rural, northeast Mississippi. Camp Friendship is located on a bluff 11 miles north of Aberdeen, MS, about 2 hours south of Memphis, TN.
Camp Friendship hosts 2 one-week sessions during the month of June. With the help of its enthusiastic volunteers, camp provides a safe, fun environment for children to build relationships with their peers. Campers participate in many fun activities including arts and crafts, team sports, water activities, scavenger hunts, skits and more.
History of Camp
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose”
- Romans 8:28
The 175 acres home to Camp Friendship were developed by the Presbyterians in the 1940s. In the 1970s, Catholics in the area began using the camp for the purpose of bringing local children together to encourage and promote racial harmony.
Volunteers of all ages are still working today to keep that spirit alive. Every summer, volunteers travel from all across the U.S. for the opportunity to serve and work with the children of Mississippi.
